Why We Need Your Help
The Cust Community Pool has been the heart of our small Canterbury community for 70 years. Now, a serious water leak has forced its closure. The council has ordered the pool shut until repairs are funded — and we need to raise approximately $37,400 on top of our existing reserves to make it happen.
Without action, our community will permanently lose its only public swimming facility.

Built by local volunteers with hand-mixed concrete and donated labour, the Cust pool opened in 1955 after a decade of fundraising. It's where generations of kids learned to swim, families gathered on hot Canterbury summers, and the community came together.
From swim meets to lazy afternoons, the pool has been more than just a facility — it's been a gathering place that defines what it means to live in Cust.
